Web design in Bolton.
And the system behind the counter.

Bolton is where we have built the most. Our published ordering platform, Grillsters on Derby Street, prints orders straight to the counter and takes them without an aggregator in the middle, and a good share of everything else we have shipped sits in the BL postcodes: grills, dessert shops, coffee houses, barbers, the car trade and wholesale.

What Bolton actually asks us for

Not websites, mostly. The BL enquiries come in four shapes and they are all operational.

Taking the orders off the apps

A grill on Derby Street or Chorley Old Road is paying a commission on every order from a customer who lives three streets away and already knows the shop. Our Grillsters build exists because of that arithmetic. The apps are good at reaching a stranger and expensive for serving a regular.

The ticket reaching the kitchen on its own

Accept or reject first, then print — line by line, with the ready-for time and the order number. A printer that prints on payment will print an order the kitchen cannot make.

A till that is bought, not rented

Bolton has a lot of independent food and retail on a thin margin, and a monthly EPOS subscription over three years is a number worth doing on paper before signing.

A loyalty card that is not another app

For a barber or a dessert shop, an Apple Wallet pass does stamps without asking a customer to install anything.

Being twenty minutes away is the whole point

Most of what we build for Bolton has hardware in it, and hardware is where remote delivery falls over.

  • Printer commissioning A kitchen printer on a shop wi-fi behind a consumer router is a half-hour job stood in the kitchen and a fortnight of phone calls from anywhere else.
  • Launch day, in the shop We would rather be there on the first Friday night than find out on Monday which bit nobody could work.
  • Training the people who use it Staff training happens at the counter, in the rush, on the real till — not on a video call with the owner relaying it.
  • Allergens done properly Held with the menu rather than in a PDF nobody updates, because the information has to be available before the order is placed.

When we are the wrong firm for this

If you are a Bolton business that genuinely needs a brochure site and nothing behind it, the cheapest honest answer is a template you can edit yourself, and we will point you at one. We are also not the right firm if your plan is to be found on Google next month: a new site does not outrank a fifteen-year-old competitor by being newer, and anybody who tells you otherwise on the first call is selling.

Where we earn our money is the system: orders, payments, printers, stock, logins and the admin screen the owner uses on a Sunday night.

Questions

Before you ask.

Have you built anything in Bolton?

Yes. Grillsters on Derby Street is our published case study — an ordering platform of their own, printing straight to the counter — and a large share of our other work sits in the BL postcodes. Most of those clients have not agreed to be named, so they are not.

Can you come to the shop?

Yes, and for anything with a till, a printer or a kiosk in it we would insist. Bolton is about twenty minutes from us and we are there for commissioning and for launch day as a matter of course, not as an extra.

Is an ordering site actually cheaper than Just Eat?

For your regulars, almost always; for a first-time customer who found you on the app, usually not. We have a free calculator that does the year’s arithmetic on your own order volume, and a comparison page that says plainly when staying on the apps is the right answer.

Do you do tills as well as websites?

Yes — countertop tills, self-service kiosks and kitchen display screens, built around your menu and your stock rather than rented by the month.

Ready to get started?

Tell us what you need. We will scope it, price it and build it.
