Web design in Oldham.
Dispatch, forecourts and the OL postcodes.

The Oldham work we have done is the least website-shaped of anywhere. It is a private-hire platform, a forecourt operation and the food trade, which means dispatch, payments, IVR and stock rather than pages. If you run something in OL that has drivers, pumps or a counter, this is the part of our work closest to yours.

Private hire, which is the hardest thing we build

We run a live platform for an Oldham-based fleet. Without naming them, this is what that work consists of, because almost nobody advertising "taxi apps" has done it.

The dispatch is the product

A passenger app is the easy half. The hard half is allocation, the queue, the shift, the no-show and the driver who went offline mid-job. Those rules are the business, and every fleet’s are different.

The phone line still carries the work

An automated phone system that recognises the caller, repeats the last address and books without a human is worth more to a fleet than a redesigned website. Most bookings in this trade still arrive as a call.

Driver payments and accounts

Account jobs, commission, settlement and the weekly statement. This is bookkeeping with a map on it, and getting it wrong costs a fleet its drivers.

Mileage and expenses, at the published rate

Anything that reports on driving has to use the real rate, and that rate changes. It is published by HMRC and we read it rather than hard-coding a number somebody remembered.

The rest of Oldham: counters, forecourts and food

  • Forecourts A forecourt is a shop, a fuel operation and a compliance regime at once, and the system has to keep all three straight.
  • Dessert and takeaway trade across OL The same ordering, printing and sold-out-in-one-tap problems as everywhere else, with a higher share of late-evening volume.
  • Multi-site from the start A lot of Oldham independents grow to a second shop before they grow their website. Build for two sites on day one and the second one is a row in a table, not a rebuild.

When we are the wrong firm for this

If you want a taxi app because a competitor has one, the honest sequence is dispatch first, phone system second, passenger app third — and the first two are where the money is. We will tell you that before quoting, and it usually makes the first invoice smaller than you expected and the second one bigger.

And if you need a shopfront website and nothing else, say so plainly: we will scope the small thing rather than talking you into a platform.

Questions

Before you ask.

Do you build taxi and private hire systems?

Yes, and we run one. Dispatch, driver allocation, account jobs, settlement and an automated phone booking line. We would rather talk about dispatch and the phone line than about an app, because that is where a fleet’s money actually leaks.

Can a system handle more than one Oldham site?

Yes, and it should be built that way from the start. Retrofitting multi-site onto a single-shop system is a rebuild; designing for it costs almost nothing on day one.

How quickly can you be here?

Oldham is a short drive and we go out for commissioning and launch as standard. Hardware work — printers, tills, kiosks — happens in person.

Tell us what you need. We will scope it, price it and build it.
