Clearbridge Talent
A recruitment platform with AI-assisted CV screening

An end-to-end platform for a recruitment agency: employer and candidate portals, an application pipeline, and AI-assisted screening that reads a CV against a live vacancy. CVs sit in private storage and are reached only through signed links that expire.

Where they were

A recruitment agency running vacancies, applications and CVs through email and spreadsheets. Every application arrived as an attachment somebody had to open, read, judge against a vacancy and then file, and nothing about that process scaled with the number of roles.

What we built

Two portals, one pipeline

Employers post and track vacancies; candidates apply and follow their own applications. Behind both sits a single pipeline, so the status a candidate sees and the status the agency works from are the same record rather than two versions of the truth.

AI-assisted screening against the live vacancy

A CV is read against the actual requirements of the role it was submitted for, in seconds, and the result is a summary a recruiter can agree or disagree with. It does not reject anybody; it puts the reading order right, which is the part that was taking the day.

A document vault that is actually private

CVs live in private storage, never in a public bucket, and are reached only through signed links that expire. A CV is somebody’s address, phone number and work history, and treating it like a brochure asset is how agencies end up on the wrong side of a data breach.

Owner-only access rules at the database

Permissions are enforced where the data lives rather than in the interface, so a missed check in a page cannot expose a record it should not.

How it works now

It is live at clearbridgetalent.co.uk. An employer can post a vacancy, a candidate can apply with a CV, and the screening runs against that vacancy without anybody moving a file between systems.

What we learned worth passing on

AI belongs on the reading order, not the decision

The useful version tells a recruiter which five of forty to read first. The version that rejects people is both worse and harder to defend.

Private by default costs nothing at the start

Deciding that CVs are private, signed and expiring on day one is a design decision. Retrofitting it after a year of uploads is a project.

The pipeline is the product

Candidates mostly want to know where they stand. A status they can see themselves removes more email than any feature we could have added.
