Web design for Newcastle.
Properly remote, and honest about it.
Newcastle is far enough from us that we will not promise to pop in, and this page exists to say what that actually means rather than to imply a presence. A fully remote build is a normal, good way to deliver software — most of the industry does it — but it works only if the hardware question is answered honestly up front, because that is the part distance breaks.
Start a projectWhat distance actually costs, feature by feature
Sorted by how much being far away matters. This is the table we would rather you had before the first call.
| The build | Does distance matter? | What we do |
|---|---|---|
| Website, shop, portal, booking | No | Video kick-off, live preview from week one, nothing shipped |
| App, iOS and Android | No | TestFlight and a Play internal track; you test on your own phone |
| Internal tools and integrations | No | Screen sharing beats being in the room for this work |
| Card terminals | Slightly | Pre-configured and posted, with a video call to pair them |
| Kitchen printers | Yes | Configured on our bench, labelled and posted; a router change may need your IT |
| Self-service kiosks | Yes | Built and tested here, delivered; we quote a visit or name a local installer |

If your build is in the bottom two rows, say so in the first ten minutes and we will either price the travel properly or tell you to use somebody closer.
How we keep a remote build honest
- A live URL from week one Not screenshots and not a demo at the end. You can open the thing being built, on your own phone, whenever you like.
- Your real data early We would rather load last month’s actual orders in week two than discover in week eight that the data is nothing like the brief.
- Written decisions Anything agreed on a call goes in writing the same day, because at this distance an unrecorded verbal agreement is how projects diverge.
- You hold the accounts Hosting, domain, repository and app store accounts in your name, so distance never becomes dependence.
When we are the wrong firm for this
If you want a supplier you can get in a room, hire in Newcastle — and the North East has good firms. If your project is mostly hardware commissioning across several sites, we are a poor fit and the travel cost would be silly. We also will not take on an ongoing on-site support contract that far away, because we could not honour it.
Remote works well for software and badly for screwdrivers. Decide which yours mostly is.
Before you ask.
Will you travel to Newcastle?
Does a remote build mean worse communication?
What if we need printers and kiosks installed?
- Custom software →When no product fits the way you actually work.
- Ongoing support →What we do after launch, and what we do not.
- Bristol →Subscription and membership commerce for Bristol independents, including the failed-payment half.
- Glasgow →Ecommerce and trade systems that handle Scottish delivery rules instead of discovering them later.
