Web design in Altrincham.
Appointments, client portals and private data.

Altrincham and the WA14 and WA15 postcodes are the most professional-services-heavy part of our patch: clinics, dentists, solicitors, accountants, consultancies, and an independent retail and food scene with an unusually high standard. Both halves need the same two things built properly — an appointment system that holds money, and somewhere private for documents to live.

Private documents, done the way they should be

This is the part most practice websites get wrong, and it is the part with actual consequences.

Nothing private in a public bucket

The most common fault we find when we inherit a build: files uploaded by clients sitting at a guessable public URL. Our published recruitment platform does it the other way — private storage, reached only through signed links that expire.

Know what you are before you write the policy

A practice is a data controller for its own client records and usually a processor for somebody else’s. Which one you are decides what your privacy notice has to say, and it is published guidance rather than a matter of opinion.

An audit trail, not a mailbox

If a document matters, who opened it and when matters. Email attachments give you neither and cannot be withdrawn.

Consent for the marketing, separately

Appointment reminders are service messages. A newsletter is not, and the rules about electronic mail marketing are specific about the difference.

Appointments where the money is real

  • A held card, not a deposit For higher-value appointments this loses almost no bookings and removes most no-shows. A deposit loses bookings.
  • Terms shown before payment The cancellation window, in plain words, on the screen where the card is entered — because that is the conversation you will eventually have to have.
  • Rooms, practitioners and equipment A real practice diary books three things at once, not one. Most booking plugins book one and let you discover the rest.

When we are the wrong firm for this

If you are a single practitioner with a full book and a waiting list, a new website will not help you and we will say so. If you are in a franchise or a group with a mandated national website, the useful work is the local booking and portal layer, not a site you are not allowed to change. And if your requirement is a clinical records system, that is a regulated product category and we are not it.

We build the booking, the portal and the admin around a practice. We do not build the clinical record.

Questions

Before you ask.

Can clients upload documents securely?

Yes, and that is the part worth paying for. Files go to private storage and are reached only through links that expire, rather than sitting at a public URL the way most uploads on small-practice sites do.

Can the diary book a room and a practitioner together?

Yes. A real practice diary allocates several resources at once — person, room, equipment — and that is where most off-the-shelf booking plugins stop.

We are part of a national group with a fixed website. Can you still help?

Usually, by building the local layer the group site does not provide: booking, deposits, client portal and reminders, linked from the page you are allowed to edit.
